5 Tips On How To Get Longer Eyelashes

in Beauty Blog

Whether it is damage caused by eyelash extensions, vitamin deficiency or simply bad hygiene, the issues that lead to thinning eyelashes can be numerous.

Fortunately, it is still not too late to do something about it.

Let’s talk about the solutions. Here are our 5 tips on how to get those long, fluffy eyelashes to make a comeback.

1. Cut out bad habits that hurt your lashes

Before we start exploring ways in which to regrow your lashes, we need to focus on damage prevention. It is a good idea to avoid bad habits that damage your eyelashes and make them even more brittle. Those include constantly rubbing your eyes, pulling or curling your eyelashes while doing your makeup or using harsh makeup removals. It is time to start being conscious about lashes and eliminate the silly mistakes we make to hurt them in our day to day life.

2. Eat a ‘healthy lash’ diet

Believe it or not, what you consume on a daily basis can have a major impact on lash hair health and growth. The Omega-3 fatty acids in salmon are known to provide extra strength to lashes and protect them against breakage while B vitamins-rich foods such as mushrooms and sweet potatoes greatly enhance eyelash growth. Other foods that contain vital nutrients are avocados, greek yoghurt, eggs and nuts. Also, get plenty of sun! An extra boost of Vitamin D will also help stimulate hair follicle growth.

3. Choose the right vitamins and oils

You may have heard of the magical Castor Seed Oil that does wonders for hair follicles on both eyebrows and eyelashes. Here are a few other supernutrients that will give a new life to your lashes.

Pro-vitamin B5:

Pro-vitamin B5 is very beneficial for the human body as its properties help prevent hair breakage. It is rich in foods like beans, nuts, mushrooms, and broccoli. It moisturizes the skin and adds sheer and volume to hair.

Castor Seed Oil:

A multipurpose vegetable oil rich in ricinoleic acid which stimulates hair growth, moisturizes, and prevents hair breakage.

Vitamin E:

A powerful antioxidant that stimulates both lash and brow growth. It also protects the skin around the eyes from sun damage and works perfectly for all skin types.

Apple Stem Extract:

The best innovative ingredient that has shown impressive results when used in skin and hair products. It also does wonders in repairing damaged tissues.

4. Use an eyelash growth serum

Lots of topical solutions out there but Forever Ideal is our personal favorite. Its effective all-natural formula that gently takes care of brittle lashes and stimulates brand new growth. At 8ml per tube, Foreverideal Eyelash Serum represents the best value for money on the market as it lasts you for a period of 3 months! Incorporate this eyelash serum into your daily routine and apply to your eyelashes once or twice a day, morning and night, by massaging it very gently. The serum seeps into your hair follicles and starts working instantly. Expect to see the first visible results in just two-three weeks!

5. Keep your lashes clean

It may sound simple but think about how many times you’ve gone straight to bed after a night out forgetting you still have makeup on, or even worse - fake eyelashes. Mascara, dust and other fine particles can really damage your eyelashes as the extra weight makes them more brittle in the long run. Not to mention the fake eyelashes! Removing fake lashes, especially after leaving them on overnight, is also extremely harmful as the glue tends to pull some of your real lashes out. Apply a gentle cleanser and leave it on for a bit to let it absorb. Then, without pulling or tugging, slowly slide the fake lash off your eyelid. To keep your lashes clean and fresh, lightly massage them with aloe vera or castor oil and let your eyes rest.
